Consumer Digital Cameras: (e.g.. Canon Ixus Series or Nikon P5100)

These cameras have their own optics and therefore need to be adapted to be used with a microscope. Please note: Not all consumer cameras are able to be adapted to a microscope. That is why we only offer cameras, which have been tested with microscopes and which are fittet to our adapters. The advantages of these cameras are the reasonable price combined with a very high number of pixels ( i.e. high quality) and the possibilty to use the camera independendly without a microscope.

Disadvantages are usually the relatively complex adaptation to the microscope, the complicated handling, no measurement options and a software, which was originally not designed for microscope users.
